HUNTERS BAY TRAIL - HUNTSVILLE ONTARIO
Hunters Bay trail is part of Canada's Trans Canada Trail and it is located in Huntsville Ontario. The 4.6km natural surface trail along Hunters Bay, can be used for hiking, walking, running and cycling. Part of the trail is a beautiful floating dock with stairs to the water that swimmers can use after a refreshing dip. This trail is an easy walk with beautiful scenic views.
A must see along the trail is the Smokin' Hot BBQ - Smokehouse & Grill.
The Trans Canada Trail Pavilion is also located along the trail at the Avery Beach Park. The photo I am pointing to is a photo I took along the Caledon Trailway part of the Trans Canada Trail. It's on most of the pavilions that still have the trail called The Great Trail.
Construction of the Trans Canada Trail began in 1992 as part of Canada's 125th birthday celebrations. It was completed 25 years later, in 2017, when Canada turned 150. In 2016, the trail’s name changed to “The Great Trail.” However, in June 2021, the name reverted back to the original.
